Camphill Cafe is collection site for food drive in celebration of R. James Macaleer Day
Camphill Village Kimberton Hills is pleased to announce we will be a collection site for a food drive in celebration of R. James Macaleer Day.
The late Jim Macaleer, a naval veteran, was CEO and Co-Founder of Shared Medical Systems (SMS) and served as a Director for almost 20 organizations, including the Brandywine Valley Association, the Natural Lands Trust, and the Philadelphia Academy of Natural Sciences. His family foundation has generously supported many local charities, including Camphill Village Kimberton Hills.
In October 2015, the Chester County Board of Commissioners declared January 29th R. James Macaleer Day (January 29 is his birthday). Mr. Macaleer’s family would like to honor Jim by promoting community service on that day each year.
It is our pleasure to honor Jim’s legacy and the kindness and generosity of Jim and his family by participating in a food drive benefiting the Chester County Food Bank. Please join with us and donate non-perishable food items from Saturday, January 16 to Friday, January 29. Donations will be accepted at the Camphill Cafe. The Chester County Food Bank’s most needed items include oatmeal, canned tuna and chicken, cereal and peanut butter, but all non-perishable food items will be accepted.
