Lost Precisely
A new work for two pianos and projected text, by Andrés Martinez de Velasco, with writer Ruby Bilger
Join us for this exciting new work, performed by Berlin-based pianists Tomoki Park and Christine Wu.
The piece tells a humorous story of two pianists who become lost in the concert hall where they are scheduled to perform. In the narrative, they find themselves in an Escher-like building where stairs, corridors, and even fire escapes mysteriously lead back to their starting point. As their disorientation grows so does their panic, fury, and desperation.
The program also includes Beethoven’s Grosse Fuge, Op. 134, arranged for piano four hands by Beethoven and selections from the Hungarian composer György Kurtág’s Játékok.
The composer and artists come to CVKH from a ten-day Artist Residency at Yellow Barn, an international center for chamber music in Putney, Vermont.
